In 1943, the new art director at Vogue, Alexander Liberman, hired Penn as his associate to prepare layouts and suggest ideas for covers to the magazine's photographers.
Why did you choose this artist? (What do you like about his/her work?)
I love the concept of his portraits and how he captures them.

Describe the lighting in the photo: The lighting of the photo is focused on the front of the persons face, it makes the focal point of the photo more concentrated on.
Where is the light coming from, and how does it fall on the subject of the photo?
The light of the photo is coming from a birds eye, it is more above the person pointing down onto the focal point of the portrait.

The photo has highlights coming off of the cheeks of the person it is more white in the center of the face and more dark in the background.
